    University of Ladakh celebrated International Yoga Day at Taru

    Leh, June 21: As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great eagerness and enthusiasm at the University of Ladakh, Leh campus, Taru.
    Vice-Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof. S.K Mehta; Prof. Manju Singh, MNIT, Jaipur; Director Leh Campus, University of Ladakh, Konchok Angmo; Dean Research, Dr. Sonam Joldan; coordinators of various Departments, faculty member and students were present in the event. Around 100 students and staff participated and performed Yogasan and Pranayam as the IDY Protocol.
    Director, Leh Campus, Konchok Angmo, welcomed all the participants.
    Similarly, Dean of Students Welfare, UoL, Dr. Jigmat Dachen spoke about the various aspect of yoga and elaborated its importance and benefits.
    Vice Chancellor, Prof. S.K. stressed on the need to practice yoga every day. He further said that regular yoga practice leads to better mental, physical and intellectual health. He added that it positively changes the lifestyle of the people and increases the level of well-being.
    A total of 50 students from the University of Ladakh, Leh Campus participated in the Yoga Day event organised by the Administration of UT Ladakh at the open stadium Spituk.
