Two-day literary seminar and symposium on Development of Literature in Ladakh concludes

    Leh, April 30: Two-day literary seminar and symposium on ‘Development of Literature in Ladakh’ organised by Ladakh Academy of Arts, Culture & Language, Leh concludes today.
    Three books titled ‘Snyan tspon legskyes’ (A Gift of poetry) authored by Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, ‘Lamayuru Monastery: The Secret Moonland on the Earth’ by Dr Khanpo Konchok Rigzin, and ‘Tamchos Gonspa Chigpa’ by Khanpo Nyima Gyaltsan were launched on the concluding day.
    Executive Councillor, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee was the chief guest and Executive Councillor, Minority/Forest, Ghulam Mehdi was the guest of honour. Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgial was also present on the concluding day. Five prominent scholars/writers of Ladakh including Dr Jamyang Gyalson, Khanpo Konchok Phandey, Dr Urgain Dadul, Khanpo Konchok presented papers on various topics on Development of Bhoti Language and Literature in Ladakh. Similarly, Tashi Chosphel gave presentation on Modern Ladakhi Literature and its Status.
    Chairman of the session, Dr Lobzang Tsewang addressed the gathering and added that this kind of literary functions and seminars need to be organised more with the involvement of youth. He also spoke on the importance of persuasive writing and its steps as it includes Thesis, Antithesis and Synthesis.
    The second half started with a poetry session in which several scholars/poets including Konchok Nawang, Stanzin Nedon, Lobzang Tsering, Nawang Sertso, Sonam Paljor, Kunga Lahskit and Phunstog Spaldon presented their poems.
    The event was attended by the prominent scholars, artists, writers and poets of Ladakh.
