    Secretary Power reviews the progress of ongoing works under PMDP/DDUGJY schemes

    Leh, 15th July 2021: Today, Secretary Power & NRE, UT Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar, IAS chaired a meeting with PDD Ladakh, POWERGRID, RECPDCL and NHPC to review the progress of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes under implementation in the UT.
    The Secretary Power directed RECPDCL and POWERGRID to bring the erected infrastructures under utility on urgent basis by charging the Distribution Transformers and providing relief to the public before onset of winter season. The Secretary Power directed the PIA’s to expedite the pace of ongoing works and increase the manpower to the working sites so that the works be completed within stipulated time frame due to limited working season in Ladakh and timelines approved by Ministry of Power.
    General Manager, POWERGRID informed the chair that POWERGRID is facing ROW issues in 8 villages due to Wildlife, Forest and BRO issues regarding the DDUGJY and PMDP Rural works under implementation in the UT for which cases are already submitted to wildlife fir clearance. The General Manager committed that baring the above villages, all villages will be completed by October 2021. He assured the chair that regarding the Substation works, 66/11 KV Chuchot and Drass substations will be commissioned by September 2021 and 33/11 KV Disket and Pinchimik shall be commissioned by November 2021. POWERGRID also committed to take up the works in Zanskar valley on top priority. Secretary Power asked for Batalik line, Lingshed line, Marka valley line to be completed on priority, for which necessary manpower augmentation should be taken up.
    Additional CEO RECPDCL also assured the Secretary that all works under the Urban Distribution Strengthening Scheme such as PMDP Urban, IPDS and RAPDRP-B shall be completed well within the sanctioned period, for which necessary manpower augmentation shall be taken up.
    The meeting was attended by G A Mir Chief Engineer Power Distribution Ladakh, S S Gupta Additional CEO RECPDCL, General Manager PGCIL, General Manager, Nimoo-Bazgo HEP NHPC, Superintending Engineer Distribution Circle, Executive Engineer Electric Distribution Division Leh and Kargil, Executive Engineer Sub Transmission Division Leh and Kargil, Executive Engineer, Project Division PDD.
