National Voters’ Day celebrated in Leh

Leh, Jan 25: 12th National Voters’ Day 2022 was celebrated in Leh with the rest of the country today organised by District Election Office, Leh DC, Leh Shrikant Suse presided over the function at Conference Room, DC, Office, Leh.

The theme for National Voters’ Day 2022 is ‘Making Election Inclusive, Accessible & Participative’. The theme underscores the primary objective for the observance of National Voters’ Day, which is to urge adults to participate in the democratic process of choosing their elected representatives.

A Pledge taking ceremony was also held on the occasion was also demonstrated to the participants. District Election Officer/DC, distributed the election card to the upcoming voters/ newly registered voters.

Electoral Registration Officer/ADC, Leh, AERO/Tehsildar leh and newly enrolled voters was present on the occasion.

The day was also observed in Nyoma Khaltsi, Nubra, Durbuk ,Sumoor,Diskit & saspol under the chairmanship of AEROs/Tehsildars. The function around NVD was celebrated through online mode keeping in mind the Covid Appropriate Behaviour and guidelines in place. Upcoming voters attended the ceremony
