    LTTA calls on CEC Leh to discuss safeguard interest of local stakeholders engaged in tourism sector

    Leh, July 02: The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, was called upon by a delegation of the Ladakh Tourist Trade Alliance (LTTA) at the Council Secretariat today.
    The delegation apprised CEC Tashi Gyalson of the unregulated movement of tourists, highlighting a few incidents of violation of different laws and SOPs at the famous tourist spots in the region. They also stressed the need for a responsible tourism policy to regulate and sustain the natural and fragile ecological environment of Ladakh.
    Taking note of the concerns, CEC Tashi Gyalson shared that the LAHDC Leh and District Administration are taking strict actions against the SOPs violators at tourist destinations in Leh. He added that they are reviewing and working on certain issues of the local stakeholders of the travel and tourism sectors. He assured the delegation that the Hill Council would actively work on strengthening the tourism sector and make efforts to resolve the issues faced by the stakeholders at the earliest.
