ICDS Project Kargil celebrates Intl. Women’s Day at Chanigound

Kargil, Mar 02, 2023:

As part of the week-long celebration of International Women’s Day, ICDS Project Kargil today celebrated International Women’s Day at Panchayat Halqa Chanigound.

District Program Officer, ICDS Projects Kargil, Nargis Banoo was the chief guest at the event and Haji Mohd Hassan, Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Chanigound was the guest of honour.

The event started with a welcome speech by Incharge CDPO, ICDS Kargil, Farida Banoo. More than 100 participants including women and men took part in the event.

DPO ICDS Kargil briefed about the importance of International Women’s Day and the role and importance of women in different aspects of social, political, economic and religious life in society and nation-building.

Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Chanigound appreciated ICDS Department for organizing such events and impressed upon the participants to take benefits from such events.

Fatima Kaneez from One Stop Centre briefed about the functioning and role of OSC and the facilities provided by it for the welfare of women facing different kinds of violence.

Hasina Banoo, a representative of Special Cell for Women talked about the facilities provided by the Cell for women.

Sadiq Ali, Supervisor, ICDS Project Kargil briefed about different schemes and services provided by ICDS Department at Anganwadi Centres and schemes of the Social Welfare Department.

He impressed upon the audience to actively take part in the smooth functioning of AWCs. Supervisors and medical staffs of ICDS Project Kargil were also present at the event.

AWWs and AWHs from Panchayat Halqa Chanigound were also present and actively took part in organizing the event.
