    GDC Kargil celebrates National Science Day (2)

    KARGIL, FEBRUARY 28 2021: As a part of various events under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, GDC Kargil celebrated a two-day National Science Day from February 27 to 28, 2022.
    Executive Councilor for Health, LAHDC, Kargil, Mohsin Ali was the chief guest on the occasion while Principal GDC Kargil, Dr Amina Qari was the guest of honour.
    While speaking on the occasion the EC Mohsin advised the students to pursue science as a career and work hard to pursue their dreams.
    While speaking on the occasion, Dr Muhammad Shabbir, botanist elaborated about Himalayan biodiversity and various medicinal plants located in Ladakh region.
    Dr Akbar Ali spoke about click chemistry and macromolecules for a sustainable future.
    Shabbir Hussain, a software engineer, threw light on the application of mathematics and computer science in knowledge development.
    In her address, Dr Amina gave a detailed overview of the importance of the National Science Day and briefed about the efforts of the college in making students aware of scientific avenues.
    On the first day, painting and debate competitions were held for the students and more than 35 students participated in both events.
    The program was concluded with certificate distribution among speakers and prize distribution among the participants wherein the participants with the best performance in painting and debate were adjudged first, second and third positions.
    The event concluded with vote of thanks by Assistant Professor, Muhammad Raza. The proceedings of the program were conducted by Assistant Professor, Amjad Ali.
    Among others who were present on the occasion include senior professors and faculty members from various departments of GDC Kargil.
