    GDC Drass organizes awareness-cum-workshop on wild edible mushrooms of Ladakh

    KARGIL, JULY 05, 2022: Government Degree College Drass in collaboration with the National Mission on Himalayan Studies, Government of India today organized a day-long awareness-cum-workshop on wild edible mushrooms of Ladakh.
    Principal GDC Drass Dr Amjad Ali Abassi presented welcome speech. In the first session Prof. Yashpal Sharma, Botany Department, University of Jammu delivered a talk on “wild edible mushroom and it is cultivation” in the seminar hall of GDC Drass.
    Students from HSS Drass, GDC Drass and faculty members participated in the event.
    Prof. Sharama briefed about the nutritional value of wild mushrooms present in Kargil and its importance. He stressed on students to come forward and explore the wild mushrooms found in Drass valley.
    On the occasion, Dr Syed Azhar briefed about the start-up India schemes and those schemes associated with agricultural production.
    In the second session, a poster presentation competition was organized for the students of GDC Drass and HSS Drass under the supervision of Dr Azram Tahoor. In the end, Dr Imtiyaz Hussain thanked Prof Sharama and his team for organizing the fruitful event for students.
