EC Aga Syed Mehdi Fazili convenes review meeting of Animal Husbandry Department

KARGIL, JUNE 13, 2022: Executive Councilor, Animal Husbandry, LAHDC, Kargil, Aga Syed Mehdi Fazili today convened a review meeting of the Animal Husbandry Department with Animal Husbandry Officer, Kargil.
During the meeting, the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kargil briefed the EC with regard to the departmental activities being carried out during the current financial year.
The CAHO said that 77 Aile Stock Development Centre’s are presently functioning in the district, while 58 Live Stock Development Centre’s are sanctioned in the district.
He said 19 Live Stock Development Centre’s are functioning internally while 39 Bull Centre’s are presently functioning in the district. Similarly, one Yak Breeding Farm at Bodh Kharboo is also functioning. He added that 2 Poultry Farms, 1 Equines Farma, 4 Poultry Units and 1 Cattle Breeding Farm are also functioning.
The Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Kargil further informed that the department has a shortage of field staff consisting 75 attendants and 14 stock assistants, due to which the functioning of Extension Centre’s is hampered.
At present, 39 Bulls are stationed at the Centre’s for which the CAO requested to allocate of sufficient funds for the replacement of Bulls.
The EC directed the CAHO Kargil to submit a proposal for transfer and adjustment of the officials of the Animal Husbandry Department enabling to rationalize the staff as per the actual requirement.
He also directed to make the hatchery machine functional which is installed at Poultry Farm and assured all possible help from LAHDC, Kargil to the department for the upliftment as per the requirement.
