Dy Chairman reviews status of general transfer of teachers and implementation of various educational schemes in Leh

Leh, 28 Jan: Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk (Executive Councillor for Education) convened a meeting to discuss measures with regards to the general transfer of teachers in the Government Schools of Leh district. The meeting also discussed regarding the National Education Policy (NEP) and its proper implementation in the district.
The officials apprised Dy Chairman about the status of various developmental works being carried out in the Education sector in Leh. Dy Chairman emphasized on rationalizing the transfer of teachers based on the requirement with respect to the availability of subject teachers in the schools. He directed the officials to prepare a report in this regard and complete the process of teacher transfer before the opening of government schools after the winter vacation in the Leh district this year.
He discussed on the need for preparing hostels and transportation facilities for the students. He also directed the officials to prepare a model for upgrading school infrastructures along with hostels. Dy Chairman Angchuk stressed on achieving the target of 100 percent literacy rate in Leh and highlighted the need for introducing skill-developing and vocational courses in line with the ‘Padhna Likhna Abhiyan’ scheme by the Government of India. Further, a phase-wise development to bring quality education which would also make students closer to their native culture and upbringing of a global vision in every student was also emphasized by the Dy Chairman.
