    KARGIL, NOVEMBER 20, 2021: The District Level Monitoring Team of the Department of Health Kargil constituted to monitor the activities as a part of the National Newborn Week visited Primary Health Centre (PHC) Tai Suru on Friday and inspected the functioning of the New born Care Centre (NBCC) and Labour Room where both the sections were functioning properly.
    The team also conducted a meeting with the PHC staff, and later held a training session for Staff Nurses, FMPHWs and ASHAs of the block.
    The team members stressed the field functionaries to ensure proper conduct of the relevant activities during the National New born Week and submit the report to the Block Medical Officer BMO Tai Suru by 21st November, 2021.
    Pertinently, in India the National New born Week is observed from 15th to 21st November every year, and the main objective of celebrating the week is to reinforce the importance of new born health as a key priority area of the health sector, and reduce the infant mortality rate by improving healthcare conditions for babies in the neo-natal period.
