    DC Kargil reviews arrangements for conduct of 2 Day Ladakh Zanskar Festival under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

    KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 04, 2021: In order to discuss the necessary arrangements related to the conduct of 2 Day Ladakh Zanskar Festival under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve convened a meeting of the concerned officers at DC Office here today.

    Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Tsering Motup, Additional Superintendent of Police Kargil Iftikhar Talib Choudhary, Superintendent Engineer, PWD, Kargil Er Ved Prakash, Executive Engineers of PDD and Mechanical besides the officers of Education, Youth Services and Sports, Culture, Information, Agriculture, Industries, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, KDA, Tourism, Handicrafts, Handloom, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Sports Authority of India Training Center besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.

    Threadbare discussion was held on various aspects of the arrangements related to the successful conduct of the 2 day festival besides various decisions were taken in the meeting and responsibilities were allotted to different departments.

    DC Santosh Sukhadeve directed the concerned departments to work in right earnest to make timely arrangements with regard to the establishment of festival venue and other related arrangements, security, uninterrupted power and water supply and power back up, medical facilities, boarding and lodging of participants, conduct of archery exhibition matches and organizing of the Fit India Freedom Run.

    He also instructed the officers concerned to ensure adequate measures are taken for smooth conduct of cultural and literary programmes, white water rafting, childrens on spot painting and music competitions, setting up various stalls by different departments showcasing the details of different government schemes, stalls of handloom and handicraft products by concerned departments and SHGs, stalls of organic vegetables, ancient and modern agriculture tools, implements and machines, Doksa lifestyle showcasing the traditional nomadic life of Zanskar Valley, conduct of traditional horse race and yak ride and other related arrangements.

    The Deputy Commissioner impressed upon all concerned departments to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in time to ensure smooth and hassle free conduct of the festival.
