    KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 18, 2021: In order to discuss the necessary arrangements and preparations related to the conduct of 1st LG Horse Polo Cup being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports UT Ladakh in collaboration with Polo Promotion Committee Drass under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at Goshan Drass, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve convened a meeting of the concerned officers at DC Office here today.
    Additional Superintendent of Police Kargil Iftikhar Talib Choudhary, Sub Divisional Magistrate Drass Anwar Hussain, Chief Planning Officer Kargil Abdul Hadi, Deputy Secretary LAACL, Kargil Nazir Hussain, Executive Officer MC Kargil Shafaqat Ali Khan, Executive Engineer PHE Kargil Subhash Chandra, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kargil Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, Assistant Director Information Muhammad Ali Tak besides other concerned officers of related departments and representatives of Polo Promotion Committee Drass attended the meeting.
    Threadbare discussion was held on various aspects of the arrangements related to the successful conduct of the 1st LG Horse Polo Cup besides various decisions were taken in the meeting and responsibilities were allotted to different departments.
    DC Santosh Sukhadeve directed the concerned departments to work in right earnest to make timely arrangements including security, uninterrupted power and water supply and power back up, medical facilities, PAS system, publicity, boarding and lodging of polo players and artists, conduct of cultural programmes on the opening and concluding functions, cleanliness and decoration of the venue and other necessary arrangements.
    The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the officers concerned to ensure adequate measures are taken for smooth conduct of 8 day polo tournament. He impressed upon all concerned departments to ensure that all arrangements are put in place well in time to ensure smooth and hassle free conduct of the tournament.
