    Chief Electoral Officer Ladakh reviews progress of Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll-2022

    Leh, December 07: The Chief Electoral Officer of UT J&K and Ladakh, Hirdesh Kumar convened a meeting in Leh to review the progress of the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll-2022 in UT Ladakh.
    The meeting was convened in the presence of the Special Roll Observer/ Divisional Commissioner, Ladakh, Saugat Biswas, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Anil Salgotra, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Santosh Sukhdev, Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs).
    Lauding the efforts of the Booth Level Officers, the Chief Electoral Officer congratulated them and said that the response received for the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Roll-2022 was good. He observed that people actively participated and came forward for inclusion and correction of names and also change in residential addresses.
    Special Roll Observer/ Divisional Commissioner, Ladakh, Saugat Biswas stated that the Booth Level Officers who have not been allotted and assigned the unprocessed forms yet should be allotted so that they can be processed no later than December 8, 2021.
    The Chief Electoral Officer, Hirdesh Kumar directed the concerned officials to complete field verifications and acceptance by the AEROs by December 15, 2021.
    Further, the Chief Electoral Officer informed that he has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Post Master General for delivering Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) by speed post. In order to deliver EPIC by post, he asked the concerned District Election Officers to sign a similar MoU with their district Superintendent of Posts. He added that the postal delivery of EPIC can also be tracked on the ERO NET.
    The Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Anil Salgotra informed that the new version of the Garuda app has been launched and all the BLOs should be instructed to update to the new version.
    Meanwhile, the Chief Electoral Officer is scheduled to conduct field verifications in Ladakh on December 07, 2021.
