CEC launches Ladakh Heritage Mobile App in Leh

Leh, Feb 10: The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson launches the ‘Ladakh Heritage Mobile App’ for the listing of Heritage/Historical sites of Ladakh in Leh today. Executive Councillor for Archives/IT/Art & Culture, LAHDC Leh, Stanzin Chosphel; Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, LAHDC Leh, Ghulam Mehdi Ashoor; Technical Director, NIC Leh, Punchok Paldan; Dy Secretary, Ladakh Academy of Art and Culture Leh, Tsewang Paljor, and Superintendent, Antiquities, Archives and Museum, Leh, Khadim Hussain, were present during the event.
The listing of Heritage/Historical sites of Ladakh is an initiative of the Department of Tourism & Culture Ladakh in coordination with the Department of Rural Development Ladakh with the Technical support of NIC Ladakh to identify and preserve the heritage sites of the UT.
Technical Director, NIC Leh, Punchok Paldan along with his technical team gave a brief presentation and demonstration on the operational features of the Mobile App. He further stated that the Panchayat Secretaries and Block Development Officers play a very active role and requested them to ensure active participation. Dy Secy, LAAC Leh, Tsewang Paljor, and Registering Officer, Antiquities, Leh Khadim Hussain, also emphasised the importance of listing heritage/historical sites of Ladakh during the meeting.
CEC Gyalson appreciates the efforts of the concerned departments and urges concerned officials at the grass-root level to exercise on the listing of important heritage sites in the UT of Ladakh.
