CEC distributes Handloom Machinery and Equipment under LAHDC Leh subsidy scheme

Leh, May 09: Hill Council Leh, under its subsidised components, has started distributing Handloom machinery and equipment at a 75% subsidised rate through the Handloom Development Department, Leh.
A symbolic program was organised by the Handloom Development Department, Leh in which the Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson presided over as the chief guest whereas, DC Leh Shrikant Suse was the guest of honour. CEC Gyalson and DC Shrikant handed over the equipment to the local beneficiaries during the occasion.
The machinery equipment includes Fly Shuttle Loom, Sewing Machine, Knitting machine, and Paddle Charkha. A total of 846 beneficiaries across Leh district will be equipped.
While addressing the gathering, CEC Tashi Gyalson emphasised that LAHDC Leh has always been at the forefront to implement such schemes. He further stressed that the Hill Council is aiming to conduct training this year to upgrade skills through these schemes to such beneficiaries.
Assistant Director, Handloom Department Leh, Dr. Tsewang Morup, and various other officials were present during the occasion.
