Agriculture dept holds Kisan Ghosti at Chuchot Shamma

Leh, March 01: The Department of Agriculture, Leh held ‘Kisan Ghosti’ under the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) at Chuchot Shamma. Councillor Mirza Hussain presided as the chief guest and nominated Councillor Mumtaz Hussain was present as Guest of Honour on the occasion.
More than 50 farmers, including Sarpanches and Panches of Chuchot villages, participated in the training programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Councillor Mirza Hussain appreciated the department for conducting such an event and urged people to construct Ladakh Greenhouses. While nominated Councillor Mumtaz Hussain stressed the farmers to adopt the new technologies for income generation.
Earlier, Research Assistant, Manzoor Ahmad gave a detailed presentation to the farmers about the production of waste decomposers.
Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer (SDAO), Leh Shakeel ur Rehman briefed the farmers about the significance of organic farming and mushroom production.
