Agriculture Department organizes field day, Kissan Goshties at Padum Zanskar

KARGIL, JUNE 16, 2022: Department of Agriculture Kargil on Wednesday organized a field day and Kissan Goshties at Conference Hall Padum Zanskar.
The program was chaired by Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil Kacho Mohd Ali Khan along with Assistant Soil Conservator Officer Kargil, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Zanskar and Agriculture Officers. Besides this, BDC Zangla, PRI members and more than 60 progressive farmers and self-help group members participated in the program.
The CAO in his address highlighted various programs, schemes and developmental activities carried out by the department in Zanskar for the welfare of the farmer community.
He also highlighted the importance of organic agriculture and the efforts of the department in making Ladakh Organic by 2025.
The CAO also stressed and requested PRI members, farmers, SHG members and other stakeholders to cooperate with the department in successful implementation of programs and schemes of the department at grass root level.
The CAO, who is also Deputy Director of Command Area Development district Kargil and Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Kargil, also informed about the schemes and programs related to these departments.
The CAO Kargil also conducted field visits in different circles of the department and randomly checked the undergoing works of compost pit and Ladakh Green House and express satisfaction over the progress of work. He assured to redress issue and problems raised by various Sarpanchs and farmers during the event.
