Week-long folk music workshop concludes in Leh

    Leh, July 27: The week-long folk music workshop organised by the Ladakh Academy of Arts Culture and Languages, Leh, under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, for the children of Ladakh’s musician community concluded at Chuchot Zamchung. A total of 30 students, including 20 boys and 10 girls took part in the wokshop.
    Nominated Councillors of LAHDC, Leh, Phuntsog Norboo and Mumtaz Hussain were present on the concluding day. They emphasised on the need of such workshops for the preservation and promotion of culture and heritage.
    Nambardar, Chuchot Zamchung, expressed gratitude to the UT Ladakh Administration and the Cultural Academy for organising such important workshop in their village. He added that such workshop focusing on folk music skills would preserve it from the threat of extinction.
