    UoL organises awareness prog on Intellectual Property in collab with G B Pant & CAZRI Leh

    Leh, Nov 07: The University of Ladakh in collaboration with G.B. Pant National Institute of Environment, Leh and Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI), Leh today organised a one-day awareness programme on ‘Intellectual Property’ under National Intellectual Property Awareness Programme.
    Prof Ashok Kumar Sharma, Registrar, University of Ladakh, was the chief guest for the occasion.
    Addressing the gathering, chief guest Prof A K Sharma hailed the initiative taken by the Department of Commerce, UoL, GB Pant Institute and CAZRI Leh for organising the awareness program on intellectual property.
    During the program, key speakers Divyendu Jha and Ashish Chowdhary from the Patent Office, Department of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India, spoke at length about the various dimensions of intellectual property. While stressing the potential of geographical indications (GI) of products from Ladakh, speaker Ashish Chowdhary asked all the participants to explore the potential of GIs available in Ladakh.
    In the end, queries raised by participants were answered by the key speakers.
    Earlier, Dr Subrat Sharma, Director, G B Pant Institute, presented the welcome speech while Dr Mohd Rafee delivered the formal vote of thanks.
