    KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 06, 2021: Secretary Tourism, Culture, Labour and Employment Ladakh Mehboob Ali Khan on Sunday inspected the on-going construction work of double storey building of Labour Sarai near Kargil Airport and took stock of the feasibility of proposed land for construction of office for Directorate of Tourism at Kargil.
    Deputy Director Employment Iftikhar Naseem, Deputy Secretary Culture Nazir Hussain,Assistant Labour Commissioner Raziya Khatoon, Assistant Director Tourism Aga Syed Toha, District Librarian Zahoor Ahmad besides other concerned officers accompanied the Secretary during the visit.
    Secretary Mehboob Ali Khan was apprised by the concerned officers about the ongoing construction work of Labour Sarai near Kargil Airport sanctioned at a cost of Rs 5 crores under the Special Development Package (SDP). He was informed that around 65% of construction work of the building has been completed while the remaining work is going on in full swing.
    The Secretary Labour and Employment directed the concerned officers to ensure strict adherence to quality and quantity parameters in the construction works, and complete the remaining works within the stipulated timelines.
    The Secretary also inspected the feasibility of proposed land for the construction of office building for Directorate of Tourism and staff quarters at Kurbathang Plateau. While expressing satisfaction on the available land he said that the matter will be followed up soon in proper consultation with other concerned agencies.
    Meanwhile, the Secretary Tourism also inspected the ongoing construction work of tourist huts at Kurbathang, and directed the concerned officers to complete the remaining works well before the end of the current working season.
