SDM Zanskar flags of group of farmers for exposure tour

KARGIL, JULY 17, 2021: Sub Divisional Magistrate Zanskar Sonam Dorjay today flagged off a group of 35 farmers of Zanskar for exposure tour in different areas of Ladakh UT.
Farmers from various Self Help Groups (SHGs) of the sub division are participating in the tour which has been organized by the Agriculture Department Zanskar.
The farmers will visit the farms and research centres and will also interact with the progressive farmers in Leh as well as Kargil.
During the flag ceremony, the SDM was informed that 81 SHGs are registered with the department, out of which 61 have got incentives under SDP, besides fencing units and prefabricated greenhouses have also been distributed among them.
Speaking on the occasion, SDM Sonam Dorjay appreciated the Agriculture Department for arranging such an exposure tour for the farmers and expressed hope that they will take maximum benefit from it.
Block Development Officer Zanskar, Tsewang Rigzin besides the staff of Agricultural Department Zanskar were also present during the flag off ceremony.
