SDM Shakar Chiktan chairs meeting to review progress of JJM

Kargil, June 30, 2022: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Shakar Chiktan Mohd Sharif today chaired a meeting at Conference Hall, Shagaran Chiktan to review the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the tehsil.
The meeting was attended by all the committee members duly constituted by the administration which includes Tehsildar Shargole, AEE PHE, BDO Shargole, incharge Police Post Wakha, BDC Chairperson and all PRIs of Shargole and Lotsum blocks.
The SDM briefed the meeting about the importance of JJM and the role of committee members in implementing the scheme within the targeted time frame.
Thereafter, AEE PHE, Abdullah briefed the meeting about the work done under JJM in every village of Shargole and Lotsum block. He informed that the work is going on in full swing in all the villages.
He requested the PRIs to extend their full cooperation so that the remaining work of pipes in every household be complete by August 15, 2022 and the scheme by 2024.
Later the BDO, Shakar Chiktan, Dr Mehdi briefed about the importance of grey water survey in the sub-division and data of number of grey water structures constructed so far and its importance and linkage with JJM. He also informed that the government is providing subsidies for the construction of pits for the said purpose.
BDC Chairperson thanked members of JJM headed by SDM and assured their full support to the members in completing the scheme before targeted time.
Later, during the question-and-answer session, the PRIs put forth their questions regarding the implementation of the scheme and AEE PHE gave them satisfactory answers.
The SDM concluded the meeting with the direction to create a WhatsApp group of all the committee members to monitor the progress of work and fix schedule for awareness camp after consultation with all the concerned.
