SBM (G): RD&PRD organizes IEC, behaviour change communication regarding solid waste management at Bhimbatt.

Kargil, May 31, 2023: Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department (RD&PRD), Kargil under Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin Phase-II today organized an Information Education and Communication (IEC) and behaviour change communication program at Panchayat Ghar, Bhimbatt.
District Panchayat Officer (DPO), Kargil, Padma Angmo, BDO Bhimbatt, Shahid Sultan Dar, District Coordinator (SWM), Mohd Toha Qadire, PRI members and villagers of Bhimbatt participated in the program.
On the occasion, the DPO Kargil talked about the objectives of Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen Phase-II. She urged the villagers to extend their cooperation in implementing the mission throughout the villages and make surroundings waste-free and hygienic.
The DPO also sensitized and motivated the villagers to achieve the ODF Plus model status by end of this year. She highlighted the role of primary segregators/households in solid and liquid waste management and instructed the villagers not to mix dry and liquid waste.
While explaining dry, wet waste and its separation at the primary level, BDO Bhimbatt said it is the responsibility of every citizen to clean surroundings and maintain the environment.
The BDO talked about the difference between solid and liquid waste and segregation process thereof. He instructed the villagers to use dustbins for dry waste collection to make the environment pollution-free.
The officials of RD&PRD sought public cooperation to make the mission successful. On the occasion, dustbins were distributed free of cost among the villagers for dry waste collection.
The segregation process would be started from tomorrow (June 01) onwards in unused CAPD Store on temporary basis till the construction of segregation shed is completed.
