    NSDC conducts one-day online orientation programme for District Skill Committees of Leh & Kargil

    Leh, August 26: The National Skill Development Corporation at the request of the Ladakh Skill Development Mission, conducted a one-day online Orientation Programme for District Skill Committees of Leh & Kargil district.
    The Programme covered various aspects of the skill ecosystem like leveraging data analytics for understanding the skilling landscape with special focus on Ladakh, Understanding National Occupational Standards, NCVET functions, QP approval process and development of curriculum, learning Resources Team functions, overview on Digital/ e Skills, Technology & Entrepreneurship. The NSDC experts gave detailed presentations on each topic covered under the programme.
    Padma Angmo, Secretary Technical Education & Skill Development Department, while addressing the participants emphasised that the District Skill Committees have a huge role to play in the skilling activities of the district like mobilization of candidates, monitoring of the skill development activities and particularly formulation of a comprehensive District Skill Plan of the district. She further added that this orientation programme is intended to familiarize the members of DSCs with various conceptual technical aspects related to qualifications, standards and skill ecosystem/ framework besides leveraging data analytics for the formulation of District Skill Development Plan. Further, she requested NSDC to extend their expertise/ support in conducting a comprehensive skill gap analysis in Ladakh.
    Vandana Bhatnagar, Chief Program Officer, NSDC assured all possible support to the DSCs from the NSDC. She added that further programmes as per the requirement of DSCs will also be conducted.
    Mahendra Singh Payaal, Head-RPL, Special Projects and State Engagement NSDC, expert team of NSDC and members of the District Skill Committee Leh/ Kargil were present in the Orientation Programme.
