    National Vaccination Day celebrated in Kargil CEC Feroz Khan appreciates health workers for extraordinary work during Covid-19

    KARGIL, MARCH 16, 2022: As part of a series of programs under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Block Medical Office (BMO) Kargil today celebrated National Vaccine Day at auditorium hall, Kargil.
    Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan was the chief guest while Executive Councilor Health Mohsin was the guest of honor, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve was invited as special guest, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADM) Tsering Motup besides concerned officers, doctors, paramedical staff, ASHAs, Anganwadi workers, frontline health workers, students were present during the occasion.
    Speaking on the occasion, CEC Khan congratulated BMO Kargil and staff members for organizing the program on National Vaccine Day.
    He extended gratitude to frontline health workers, for rendering their extraordinary services during the Covid-19 pandemic and fighting with the virus.
    Khan hailed the services of ASHAs, Anganwadi workers for remaining available at the doors steps of people.
    The CEC said that ASHAs, Anganwadi workers play a vital role between the government and the people regarding channelizing welfare schemes on the ground.
    CEC Khan said that with the passage of time perception of people towards vaccination drives has changed adding initially people were reluctant to go for vaccination and now people are welcoming the vaccination which is a positive sign.
    He said India is a polio-free country but many neighboring countries are fighting polio and as a precautionary measure the polio drive is still going in the country.
    Khan said the Covid-19 vaccination drive for children between 12-14 years has been started in the district urging parents, children to come forward and get vaccinated.
    While highlighting the extraordinary role of health workers during the Covid-19, Executive Councilor Health, Mohsin Ali said the vaccination drive initiated by the Union Government was incomplete without the support of ASHA workers.
    The EC said Kargil will be Covid-19-free soon as the number of positive cases is declining rapidly due to collective efforts from all sections of the society.
    On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve also thanked doctors, frontline workers, ASHA and Anganwadi workers for working tirelessly during the Covid-19 period for keeping Kargil safe.
    DC Santosh said the issue of Anganwadi workers has been taken up with higher authorities and said that early redressal from the higher authorities is expected.
    Meanwhile, a colorful cultural dance was also presented by the artists of Cultural Academy while a skit was also presented by Ranthag Theater Group.
    The program ended with the distribution of felicitation certificates to ANMs and ASHA workers for their extraordinary work duties. Haji Sakina Banoo was also awarded the national award winner for best vaccinator from Kargil.
    Similarly, National Immunization Day was also celebrated at Community Health Center, Sankoo where SDM Sankoo, Ghulam Mohid-Ud-In Wani was the chief guest.
    Deputy CMO Kargil, Dr Muhammad Abass Akhoon, Dr Imtiyaz Hussain surgeon, Health Educator, CHO, JHI, PRI members ANMs ASHAs and paramedics were also present on the occasion.
    On the occasion, SDM Sankoo appreciated the Covid-19 warriors, healthcare workers, who have been working tirelessly in the fight against the Covid-19.
    Later, appreciation certificates were distributed to frontline healthcare workers including ASHAs and ANMs for their selfless hard work and dedication.
