KARGIL, DECEMBER 30, 2021: Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil today issued a clarification and rejected a false report of United News of India dated 29 December 2021 under the headline “On Pune visit, Ladakh AHDC Chairman invites tourists, investments to Kargil”.

OSD to Chairman/CEC LAHDC Kargil in a clarification issued said the said news piece covers the event held at the Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh attended by a team from Kargil led by CEC LAHDC Kargil.

“Regarding the said news piece, this is to clarify that the focus of the entire event was to build stronger bonds between the cities of Pune and Kargil especially in the domains of Tourism, education and skill enhancement,” LAHDC said.

It said that some remarks made during the event have been misconstrued as seeking investment from Maharashtra industrialists.

LAHDC Kargil would like to strongly condemn allegations made on social media and would like to state that such social media posts are completely baseless and are made with wrong intentions. LAHDC Kargil strives for equitable participation in the development of Ladakh, its economy and the development of the people.

The Chairman/CEC LAHDC Kargil, during the entire event, focused on exploring a sustainable tourism model for the holistic development of Kargil as a tourism destination.

In this regard, the official press release as issued by the Department of Information and Relations Kargil should be considered as the factual & correct report of the events held at Pune.
