    KVK Kargil, Baseej e Zara’at wa Baghbani organize farmer’s awareness programme under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

    KARGIL, AUGUST 27, 2021: As a part of the series of events held under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kargil (KVK)-I in collaboration with Baseej e Zara’at wa Baghbani, IKMT Kargil organised a programme on the theme- Food and Nutrition for Farmers designed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India at Shargole on Thursday.
    Head KVK Kargil Dr Ghulam Mehdi while expressing satisfaction over the enthusiasm and interest of farmers in the awareness programme suggested them to frequently visit KVK Kargil to acquire more knowledge about latest technology and techniques. He further stated that farmers and students can contact the scientists of KVK any time for technical guidance.
    Principal Government Higher Secondary School, Shargole Ishay Namgyal thanked the organizers for providing exposure regarding the new technology and technical solutions, he said adding it will help the students to enhance their knowledge in the field of agriculture.
    Muhammad Ali, farmers’ representativeon behalf of all the farmers from Shargole Block expressed gratitude to the organizers for organising the event to facilitate direct interaction of farmers with the scientists which helped them to learn new techniques and clear doubts.
    The first session of the day long programme started with demonstration of latest technologies through live models and exhibition of different crop samples followed by an interaction between scientists and farmers regarding production of different crops and eco-friendly management of insect and pest diseases and marketing of the products.
    The second session consisted of lectures by resource persons including scientists Dr Barjis Zahra and Dr Rinchan, entrepreneur Ahmad Ali and farmers’ representatives on the designated themes.
    A good number of progressive farmers along with school children of Shargole Block participated in the programme.
