    KARGIL, DECEMBER, 27, 2021: A four-day Ice Hockey Tournament, which was organized by UK Zgang in collaboration with Smart Sports Association Chiktan, concluded today at Ice Hockey Rink Zgang Chiktan.
    Executive Councillor for Health, Mohsin Ali was present as chief guest while SDM Shakar Chiktan Muhammad Shareef Kakpori was present as guest of honor on the occasion.
    Naib Tehsildar Chiktan Ghulam Rasool, in-charge Police Post Chiktan, Sarpanch Chiktan Kacho Liyaqat Ali Khan, Nambardar Chiktan Muhammad Mussa, ice hockey players and a large number of sports enthusiasts were present at the closing ceremony of the tournament.
    Executive Councillor, Mohsin Ali extended gratitude to the organizers of the tournament for their initiative towards promoting of winter sports for organizing such tournaments.
    He said LAHDC Kargil is committed to providing financial assistance to players and students who want to achieve their goals in their respective fields.
    The EC urged the players to participate in the tournament with the spirit of team coordination and sportsmanship.
    He said the event will bring improvement in the overall personality development of the young players and prepare them to face future challenges in life.
    The EC also advised the players to strive for developing sportsman spirit which teaches them to accept victory or defeat in a graceful manner.
    He also advised the players to focus on regular practice in Ice Hockey so that they can excel in the game and bring laurels to Kargil district and the entire Ladakh region.
    On the occasion, SDM Kakpori expressed gratitude over the participation of large number of youths across Shakar Chiktan in the tournament and congratulated the organizers.
    He assured that the sub-divisional administration will provide the best possible facilities to the teams from Shakar Chiktan who will participate in the upcoming district and UT level tournaments.
    Meanwhile, the final match was played between UK Zgang and Friends Pashkum which was won by Friends Pashkum by 03 goals. Nine teams hailing from different areas participated in the tournament.
    Later, the dignitaries distributed prizes among the winner and runner teams.
