GMDC Zanskar installs sanitary pad vending machine, incinerator for girl students.

Kargil, May 24, 2023:
To promote safe and hygienic-sanitary practices among girl students, Govt. Model Degree College Zanskar on the direction of Commissioner Secretary Higher Education, Padma Angmo, today installed sanitary pad vending machine and incinerator in the college.
The move comes in view the enrolment of girl students at the college. Now girl students only need to pay Rs 5 which will be provided by female staff of the college for maintaining records.
The facility will enhance the hygiene of girl students and best quality sanitary pads will be available free of cost for the girl students. Also the incinerator will make scientific management of the waste product thereby curtailing environment pollution.
Principal GMDC Zanskar, MNM Shabani and other staff members were present on the occasion. The principal thanked Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Padma Angmo for sensitizing the college administration for the need of such a facility in the college.
