First Siachen ice climbing festival organised at Nubra

Leh, March 08: The first Siachen ice climbing festival was inaugurated by Sarpanch, Khemi Halqa in presence of the officials of Ladakh Police and villagers of Tongsted village. The ice climbing festival is organised to promote the Siachen valley as a tourist adventure spot and to train the youths for the ice climbing adventure.
A total of 20 youths participated in the opening ceremony of the festival. The festival will continue till March 20.
