EC Tourism chairs meeting regarding implementation of JJM in Zanskar

KARGIL, MAY 09, 2022: Executive Councilor, Tourism, RD and Zanskar Affair LAHDC Kargil Er. Punchok Tashi on Sunday chaired a meeting regarding the implementation and progress of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Zanskar subdivision.
The meeting was attended by Area Development Officer/SDM Zanskar Sonam Dorjay, Executive Engineers of Hydraulic Zanskar division with AEE Hydraulic, Manager Site Office NHIDCL NH-301 Padum.
Exen Hydraulic informed the chair that 25 villages and 191 habitations having 2788 households in three blocks in Zanskar shall be provided drinking water through JJM with a project cost of Rs 129.76 crores that is Zanskar block Rs 52.94 crores, Karsha block Rs 46 crores and Lungnak block Rs 30.82 crores, out of that payment of Rs 11.86 crores were made during the financial year 2021-22.
It was also informed that 99 percent works of JJM were started in the subdivision and completed within the stipulated time.
Manager Site Office NHIDCL NH-301 Padum raised the issue of not shifting of monuments coming under the road construction on NH-301. Due to that they are unable to work with a long stretch to complete the work within the stipulated time.
The EC directed the SDM and Hydraulic Departments to redress the issues that come in the construction of NH-301 and JJM and ensure to complete the works within the stipulated time.
