EC Tashi Yakzee reviews arrangements for the upcoming Mega Plantation Drive at Chushul

Leh, Jan 31: Executive Councillor for RDD/ASH, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee convened a meeting today in Chushul village to review necessary preparations for the upcoming Mega Plantation Drive which will take place in Chushul on 5th of June this year.
He was accompanied by Executive Councillor for Horticulture, LAHDC Leh, Ghulam Mehdi Ashoor, (who’s also the Co-Chairman of Go Green Go Organic committee), Councillor Chushul, Konchok Stanzin; Nominated Councillor, Ven Konchok Tsephel, ACD Leh, CPO Leh, Xen R&B Leh, DFO Leh, CHO Leh, BDC Durbuk, village representatives led by Sarpanch, Nambardar of Chushul village and the representatives from Go Green Go Organic Committee, Chushul.
EC Tashi Yakzee informed the meeting that the ‘Go Green Go Organic Mission’ has been initiated by H.H Skyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche and is now entering into the 11th phase of the Mega Plantation drive this year. He further added that plants such as Seabuck thorn, Red Bush (Umbu), and various fruit plants will also be planted during the mega event.
The officials apprised the Executive Councillors on the status of various developmental initiatives by the local administration in this regard. Taking note of issues raised by the members of ‘Go Green Go Organic’ committee, EC Tashi Yakzee assured that all the grievances will be resolved soon.
Hill Council, Leh in collaboration with the Go Green Go Organic Committee will conduct the Mega Plantation drive in Chushul on 5th of June this year on the occasion of World Environment Day.
