EC Tashi visits Zangla village to review developmental works

KARGIL, JUNE 19, 2022: Executive Councilor Tourism, RD and Zanskar Affair, LAHDC, Kargil, Er Punchok Tashi today visited Zangla village to review the developmental works.
During the tour, the EC reviewed the developmental works being carried out by the Public Works Department at Shilingskit, Tsazar and Zangla in the current financial year.
At Shilingskit village, EC Tashi was informed by the Executive Engineer hydraulics that the solar water lifting system for irrigation is almost complete and will be made functional within a week.
At Zangla village, the EC also reviewed the ongoing works of cafeteria-cum-public convenience, recreational centre, link road and JJM works and directed the concerned officers to complete the works on stipulated time. He also handed over 400 ft pipe to the Nuns of Chomo Gonpa for irrigation purpose.
After returning from Zangla, EC Tashi attended a meeting with Commanding Officer Sadhbhawana at Tourist Dak Bungalow Padum.
The CO assured the EC that refreshment for the students preparing for the upcoming SSC examinations shall be provided by Army at Tehsil Library Padum from Monday onwards besides will provide 20 chairs to the library.
Later, EC Tashi along with SDM Zanskar, Exen PWD and ZDA, AEEs and JEs of PWD and ZDA, visited Stagringmo Gonpa and Padum Khar Palace, to review the ongoing works.
The Lamas of Stagringmo Gompa raised their issues. The EC directed the Executive Engineer ZDA to complete the tendering process of ground, footpath and other minor works of Gompa within a week period. The Executive Engineer PWD assured to the EC that the solar water pump will be installed within a week.
