EC Syed Abass Razvi chairs meeting on snow clearance undertaken by Project VIJAYAK, R&B, MC Kargil

KARGIL, JANUARY 06, 2022: Following the fresh snowfall, Executive Councilor for works LAHDC Kargil, Aga Syed Abass Razvi today chaired a review meeting on the preparedness and execution of snow clearance works undertaken by Project VIJAYAK, R&B Department Kargil and Municipal Committee (MC) Kargil at Council Secretariat.
Executive Engineer R&B 2nd, Kacho Mehmood Ali Khan, Executive Officer MC Kargil, Shafaqat Ali Khan, Commanding Officer 762 BRTF, Col. Ashish Dhaka Chief Engineer Project VIJAYAK, BRO Col. Prashant Jaiswal, besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.
During the meeting the EC Razvi said that the concerned departments shall find all ways and measures for snow clearance works.
Regarding works carried under VIJAYAK, the EC was informed that Leh-Drass Highway until 10 kms before Zojila Pass is clear and all measures are being taken up to clear snow on other border roads within the district.
EC Razvi asserted that all inter-district routes under Project VIJAYAK should be made motorable by using soil and other means, to ease traffic movement for small vehicles. Moreover major snow clearance works would resume once snowfall stops.
Regarding snow clearance works undertaken by MC Kargil, the EC was informed that machinery and human resources have been deployed for making the roads functional, undertaking soiling and other works have already been done.
About snow clearance works under R&B Department Kargil, the EC Razvi was informed that snow clearance works on Titichumik-LAHDC Secretariat road and Secretariat premises will be done at the earliest.
