EC Razvi holds meeting pertaining to transmission line of Sankoo to Kochik

KARGIL, JUNE 15, 2022: Executive Councilor for Works, LAHDC, Kargil, Aga Syed Abbas Razvi today held a meeting pertaining to 11 KV transmission line of Sankoo to Kochik here at Council Secretariat.
Councilor Parkachik Haji Ghulam Muhammad, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sankoo Muhammad Hanif, Tehsildar Taisuru Sajjad Hussain, Deputy Manager REC Nitin Kumar, representatives of L&T, TATA and concerned officers were present during the meeting.
During the meeting, EC Razvi raised the issue of re-routing of transmission line between tower 204 to 214 and said that the survey of the project was done by not taking suggestions of consulting concerned officers and PRI members.
He added that people of the concerned villages have expressed grave concern on the current routing of the transmission line as it touches their land, residential houses and agricultural land. Therefore, necessary measures need to be taken to resolve the issue.
The EC directed the concerned agencies to resolve the matter and directed to fix dates for a joint survey by the Tehsil Administration and concerned executing agencies.
He affirmed that the transmission line is vital for the development of the area. However, he said development should go according to the wishes of the public as Ladakh is already facing a dearth of cultivable land.
