    KARGIL, MARCH 08, 2022: A 5-day district-level training program for School Health Ambassadors under School Health Program (SHP) concluded today at Conference Hall, Baroo.
    On the occasion, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Chief Education Officer, Mushtaq Ahmad, Nodal Officer for SHP, Dr Abdul Jalil, resource persons and school health ambassadors were present.
    As per the program, around 35 nominated teachers also called as School Health Ambassadors from all the blocks of Kargil district were provided training on various health issues.
    The teachers were provided training on safety and security, mental health, interpersonal relationship, gender equality, nutrition health, sanitation, prevention and management of substance abuse, promotion of healthy lifestyle, reproductive health and HIV, growing healthy, promotion of safe use of the internet and social media, and value and citizenship.
    The trained teachers will further impart the training to other teachers in their respective blocks. The teachers will accordingly teach the children at school in weekly orientation sessions.
    Once the children get awareness in schools, they also will function as messengers to their families and communities to spread awareness regarding these health issues.
