    District-level orientation prog held on preparation of thematic GPDP in Leh

    Leh, Dec 30: A virtual district-level orientation programme on preparation of thematic Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for FY 2023-24, organised by Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, UT Ladakh in collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR), GoI, was held at DC Conference Hall, Leh today.
    The orientation programme focused exclusively on People’s Plan Campaign- 2022 for preparation of thematic GPDP under Localized Sustainable Development Goals (LSDGs) mapped into nine themes by Ministry of Panchayati Raj, including Poverty Free and Enhanced Livelihoods Village, Child-friendly Village, Women-friendly Village, Healthy Village, Self Sufficient Infrastructure Village, Socially Secured Village, Water Sufficient Village, Village with Good Governance and Clean and Green Village.
    The thematic approach to GPDP with focus on LSDGs would ensure convergence of resources and augment community participation at panchayat level in consonance with all the stakeholders and line departments. It is also aimed to achieve saturation on all SDGs by 2030.
    The resource persons from the Ministry of Panchayati Raj gave a detailed presentation on the process, procedure, action plan, activities regarding preparation of thematic GPDP along with demonstration on uploading the approved GPDP on the eGram Swaraj portal. They also briefed about the continuous orientation and handholding support provided by MoPR to the States/UTs on the revamped portal for preparation of thematic GPDP.
    The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development/ Additional District Development Commissioner, Leh; Chief Planning Officer, Leh; District Panchayat Officer, Leh; Sub-Divisional Magistrates; HoDs of all the line departments and all the Block Development Officers of Leh district attended the meeting.
    The workshop was conducted virtually as the designated resource persons could not reach Leh as flights were cancelled due to inclement weather.
