Director Industries visits Drass to promote Black Cumin Distributes packaging material among beneficiaries

KARGIL, FEBRUARY 16, 2021: Director Industries and Commerce, UT Ladakh Moses Kunzang today visited Drass to promote branding, packaging and marketing of Black Cumin (Zeera) among farmers and entrepreneurs.
During the visit to the sub-division, Moses Kunzang visited Shimsha, Kharbu and Kaksar areas during which he also interacted with farmers.
On the occasion, he distributed packaging material among beneficiaries for Black Zeera packaging.
The director advised the beneficiaries to tap the potential of Black Zeera and told them nuances of good packaging, branding, marketing and FSSAI registration.
Pertinently, it was informed that communication with NIFTEM and CSIR-CFTRI is undergoing and soon samples of Black Zeera will be sent for necessary testing.
Moreover, the samples collected on Wednesday will be sent to the concerned laboratories and Spice Board of India for testing purposes at the earliest.
It was informed that in collaboration with concerned departments, a training workshop on Black Zeera is scheduled to be held in the coming summer.
