    DC Santosh Sukhadeve takes stock of extension works of Civil Helipad Kargil (3)

    KARGIL, OCTOBER, 26, 2021: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve today visited Civil Helipad Kurbathang to take stock of the status of the ongoing extension works there.
    Superintending Engineer PWD Division Tashi Tundup, Executive Engineer R&B-II Kacho Mehmood Ali Khan, AEE Kacho Mumtaz Ali Khan besides other concerned officers accompanied the DC Kargil during the visit.
    Regarding the helipad extension works, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that 90 per cent work of the helipad extension have been completed and the newly constructed helipad can avail landing of minimum two MI-17 helicopters at a time. It was further informed that provision for helicopter hanger has also been included at a cost of Rs 6.7 crores under SDP, and space has also been demarcated for fuel tankers.
    DC Santosh Sukhadeve directed officers for early completion of the remaining works including wall retention and fencing by the Mechanical Division side. He further assured that matter with regard to the provision of land for construction of hanger will be taken up with the Food, Civil Services and Consumer Affairs Department.
    While expressing satisfaction over the status of the execution of works so far the Deputy Commissioner said that the civil helipad will be useful in providing hassle free movement of civilian passengers, and will also prove a source to strengthen tourism in the district.
