    DC Leh inspects Covid-19 screening point at Upshi

    Leh, April 10: Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Suse, today visited Upshi village to inspect the Covid-19 screening point. He was accompanied by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Kharu block; Additional Superintending of Police (ASP), Leh and Block Medical Officer (BMO), Kharu and officials from BRO/GREF.
    Deputy Commissioner, Shrikant Suse, took stock of the arrangements for the screening and testing of the passengers arriving to Ladakh from Manali by road.
    DC Leh directed the SDM Kharu to establish a quarantine centre at Upshi with the necessary facilities for isolating people who test Covid positive during the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at the Upshi screening point. He exhorted the SDM to ensure elaborate arrangements for strict monitoring of all inbound passengers and making adequate arrangements for the boarding and lodging of the staff deployed on duty. DC Leh also directed the ASP Leh to deploy additional manpower for the same purpose.
    Representatives from BRO/ GREF were instructed to ensure that it is mandatory for labourers engaged by them for various works in Ladakh to bring negative RT PCR reports. They were also asked to sensitise the labourers on following covid appropriate behaviour before deploying them to different places.
