    DC Leh chairs DLRC meeting Stresses on active role by banks on 100% saturation of social security and employment generation schemes

    Leh, April 16: Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Suse who is also the chairman of the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) chaired the meeting of DLRC of Leh district at DC Conference Hall today.
    Lead Bank Manager (LDM), Leh apprised the DC about the performances of Banks in the priority and non-priority sectors which included agriculture, education, housing, energy and others as well as various self employment schemes like NRLM, NULM, PM-SVANIDHI, PMEGP, PMFME etc. Further, Branch heads of various banks apprised the DC about achievements and future action plans to improve performance in these parameters.
    He advised the Banks to play active role w. r. t. various schemes which are implemented by different ministries for the generation of employment and entrepreneurship in the district. Further, discussions were held on Financial Literacy Camps organised by respective Banks in the district.
    Bank-wise performance on Social Security Schemes saturation was also discussed during the meeting. DC Leh stressed that the targets will be monitored for each bank on a monthly basis. He advised banks to increase public awareness regarding these schemes through financial literacy camps, placing display posters at bank offices, ATMs and other public places. He also reviewed initiatives undertaken by each bank to encourage Digital Payment and Digital literacy among the masses.
    District officers of the concerned departments apprised DC about the progress in various government schemes in the Leh district and issues faced by applicants to avail benefits. DC stressed on coordination and regular monitoring by banks and departments so that applicants do not face any issues.
    Director, Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Leh apprised DC Leh about the self-employment training programmes for the unemployed youths in the financial year 2021-2022. He informed about the successful batches of youths trained by RSETI in various fields of training programmes.
    The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Leh; Lead Bank Manager, Leh; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Leh; Chief Horticulture Officer, Leh; District Agriculture Officer, Leh; Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Leh; District Officers of respective Departments, Branch Managers of respective banks in the Leh district and other concerned officials.
