    Day-2 of Science Week Festival in Leh

    Leh, Feb 23: The second day of the science festival themed ‘Annals of History of science’ was held at Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) and Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Leh.
    The students, teachers and the army officials of Ladakh Scouts participated in the science festival. Senior Scientist, DIHAR Leh, Dorjey Angchuk; Technical Officer, DIHAR Leh, Tsewang Tamchos and Technical Officer, DIHAR Leh, Tsewang Norboo gave a detailed explanation of the different sites of DIHAR to the participants focusing on the development of agriculture through modern technologies.
    A visual presentation and a detailed explanation was given by the Technical officer, Defence Geo-Informatics Research Establishment, (DGRE) Chandigarh, Ankur Prashar at DIHAR Leh about the phenomenon of snowfall, its classifications and safety measures in snowbound areas. The Participants also participated in the poster exhibition at EJM college Leh. A Science talent search competition was also organized by Ladakh Science Olympiad through online mode.
    The Ministry of Culture & the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA), GoI, under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is celebrating the week as the glorious week dedicated to science and technology – Vigyan Sarvatre Pujyate (science is revered all over).
