    CEC Tashi Gyalson inaugurates short term training programme under PMKVY 3.0 (DGT COMPONENT) at ITI Leh

    Leh, Aug 06: Technical Education and Skill Development Department, Ladakh, launched short term training programme under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) 3.0 (DGT COMPONENT) at the Govt. Industrial Training Institute, Leh on 3rd August 2021.

    The training programme was inaugurated by the Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson in the presence of District Magistrate, Leh, Shrikant Suse and Sr. Superintendent of Police Leh, Rajiv Pandey.

    Addressing the trainees, CEC Tashi Gyalson stressed the need for enhancing skills of the youths for becoming job creators rather than job seekers. He highlighted the scope of entrepreneurship in modern-day Ladakh and appealed to the youth of Ladakh for taking up entrepreneurship as their career choices with well-developed skills in various sectors. He wishes the best for all the participants and requested them to take maximum benefits of the STT programme.

    DM Leh Shrikant Suse stated that a District Level Committee (District Skill Committee) is monitoring all kind of skilling activities in the district including PMKVY. He added that formulation of a Comprehensive Skill Development plan is in process to identify market relevant trades in the region. He also informed the gathering that more of such skill development trainings will be offered for the youths of the district.

    As the first batch of STT in Automaotive Service Technician, 15 Police Personnel’s are undergoing the STT programme at ITI Leh. Also a batch of 15 youths are undergoing STT in Junior Software Developer trade.

    SSP Leh also spoke about the importance of the training programme and stated that even the law enforcement agencies like the Ladakh Police will also give special preferences during recruitment drives for candidates who are trained in such skills from institutes like ITI Leh.
