    CEC Gyalson reviews Covid situation in Leh Vaccination drive to take place on a war footing basis

    Leh, April 25: In view of the surge in Covid-19 cases in the district, the Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson today conducted a review meeting again to assess Covid-19 situation in Leh district with DC/CEO LAHDC Leh, Shrikant Suse, CMO Leh, Dr. Motup Dorje and Deputy CMO Leh.

    The meeting discussed in detail on a multi-pronged strategy to defeat the deadly virus by preparing Covid related infrastructure viz. testing facilities, availability of oxygen, essential drugs, extra beds and most importantly, enforcing Coivd Appropriate Behavior (CAB) strictly among public along with timely and effective roll out of Covid Vaccination for population above 18 years in Leh district.

    CEC Gyalson assured that LAHDC Leh will purchase & procure more vaccines for the people of Leh if required considering UT Administration is already on the task. Furthermore, he advised DC Leh to enforce all measures to suppress community spread of the virus. He further informed that LAHDC Leh through its Councillors, will extend all possible assistance in making the vaccination drive seamless by arranging required logistics especially transportation facilities for the people during the course of Vaccination.

    CEC Gyalson once again appealed to the people of Leh to follow all the guidelines and SOPs related to Covid-19 strictly and advised not to venture out of their homes needlessly. He specially requested all the Ladakhi students reaching Leh from metro cities to strictly follow mandatory institutional quarantine after their samples are collected at the airport and they will be relieved once their RT-PCR tests report are negative.
