    CEC Gyalson chairs GIS based Master Plan for Greater Leh stakeholders meeting

    Leh, September 20: The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv Tashi Gyalson chaired stakeholders meeting regarding formulation of GIS based Master Plan for Greater Leh 2050 along with the experts from Indian Institute of Spatial Planning and Environment Research (ISPER), Panchkula.
    The stakeholders in the meeting included Executive Councillors and Councillors of LAHDC Leh; DC/CEO LAHDC Leh, Chairperson, Block Development Council Leh and Chuchot; Municipal ward members; heads of various religious organisations; representatives from social, political and commercial organistions and the concerned officers and officials from different departmental.
    CEC Gyalson stressed on formulating a comprehensive draft proposal for the master plan inclusive of the inputs from all the stakeholders of the Leh district. He directed the stakeholders to submit their inputs/ suggestions in written to the Director, Urban Local Bodies, Ladakh at the earliest.
    Earlier, Secretary General, ISPER, K Surjit Singh highlighted their vision of Greater Leh – 2050 which would aim on integrating nature and the local people while focusing on conservation of natural resources, form, local art and culture, in city development through participation of stakeholders to attain sustainable habitat. He also presented a power point presentation on the pre-draft proposal of the master plan on several aspects like development of old city, parking management, urban designs among others.
