    KARGIL, FEBRUARY 28 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan along with Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve today took on the spot assessment of damaged shops due to an unfortunate fire incident at Drass market.
    During the visit, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Drass, Anwar Hussain briefed the CEC and the DC about the unfortunate incident which has caused damage to the public property.
    CEC and DC Kargil took first-hand appraisal of the incident and assured the affected people full financial support according to the exiting procedure and rules.
    The SDM informed the CEC that the damage has been estimated and paperwork for the assessment has already been done and will be put to higher authorities for early redressal.
    CEC Khan assured to take up the issue with the UT administration to provide fire fighting vehicles in order to avoid any such incident in the future.
    Later, CEC Khan also met the local representatives of Drass area and gave a patient hearing to the projected grievances including deputation of gynecologist, functioning of operation theater, ultrasound machine at Drass hospital and other allied demands and assured early redressal of all the demands.
