CEC Feroz Khan flags off Thang Ta team to participate in KIYG at MP

Kargil, Feb 03, 2023: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan today flagged off team of Thang Ta to participate in the fifth Khelo India Youth Games organized in Madhya Pradesh from January 30 to February 11.
The team is led by Mohd Hassan, an employee of the Horticulture Department Kargil and Marziya Banoo as coach along with Iftiqar Hussain, Irfan Ali, Mohd Yunus, Muzafar Ali Khan, Shanaz Fatima and Zahra Batool as players.
The CEC wished the team best for the tournament and said sports has a great prospect in UT Ladakh. He said UT Administration and the LAHDC is taking various initiatives for the welfare and development of sports in the Union Territory.
He appreciated the role of Thang Ta Association for preparing players despite of limited resources and making them capable for national events.
Khan assured for all possible help by LAHDC Kargil for the promotion and development of sports and urged the associations to take benefit from the Subsidy Scheme.
On the occasion, Councilor, Minjee, Mohd Mehdi was also present to encourage the team.
Ladakh is participating in three different categories at the Khelo India Youth Games like Boxing, Archery, Thang Ta and Athletics while the boxing team is already at MP.
