    CEC Feroz Khan chairs meeting to review achievements of JJM

    KARGIL, MARCH 28, 2022: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan today chaired a meeting at Council Secretariat to review the physical and financial achievements of works being executed under Jal Jeevan Mission 2021-22.
    Executive Councilor for Social Welfare, Aga Syed Hassan Arman, Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kargil, A G Zargar, District Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Kargil, Tashi Tundup, SDM Sankoo, Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani, Executive Engineer PHE Division Kargil, Muhammad Hassan Lone concerned AEE, JE’s, members of Implementing Support Agency (ISA) and concerned officers were present during the meeting.
    During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on different aspects pertaining to execution of JJM works in the district. CEC Khan was informed about the status of various works undergoing in the district under JJM.
    Concerned AAEs informed the CEC about the status of JJM works ongoing in different blocks of the district such as Kargil, Drass, TSG, Taisuru, Sodh, Shakar Chiktan, Shargole and other areas of the district.
    CEC Khan was informed that JJM works are going in full swing across the district and all measures are being taken to achieve the target within the stipulated time.
    Khan was informed that 19,295 households across Kargil have been listed under JJM and out of which 5,461 households have been connected with FHTCs till date.
    The CEC appreciated the PHE department for achieving good progress during the current financial year for the works under JJM.
    Khan said that the department should take all measures to resolve the issues and barriers so that proper water supply can be ensured to people adding that the LAHDC Kargil will provide all assistance to resolve the issues.
    The CEC directed to complete digging work before cultivation season and also directed ISA members to actively persuade people to resolve issues pertaining to JJM and involve concerned public representatives and officers in the process.
    Khan also directed to charge the water connection of Kargil town at the earliest and directed to complete the works before the assigned deadline.
    DC Santosh Sukhadeve while appreciating the concerned department said that with the pace works are undergoing the target seems to be achievable.
    He further said that the Per Capita Cost for projects under JJM should not escalate beyond the targeted amount and rational installation of FHTCs must be ensured.
    DC Santosh further asserted that the projects should be visually appealing and JJM works of schools and Anganwadis should be completed at the earliest.
    He also informed that from next week onwards quality assessment of project works will be done by CEC Kargil at different blocks of the district.
