    CEC Feroz Khan attends ground breaking ceremony of online inauguration of widening of Kargil-Dungal road

    KARGIL, OCTOBER 01, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor,LAHDC,Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today attended the ground breaking ceremony of the online inauguration of widening of Kargil-Dungal Road at Akhchamal where senior BRO officers were present.
    The widening of the road was virtually inaugurated by the Lieutenant Governor Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur.
    The nearly 50 kilometre road is being widened by the Project Vijayak of BRO.
    Former CEC Kargil and sitting Councilor Yurbaltak Constituency Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, Satyam Kumar Rathode Officer Commanding, 55 RCC (GREF), Col Kaushik Mitra, Commander 762 BRTF and other officers of BRO were also present during the event.
    Speaking on the occasion, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan thanked the Government of India and the Lieutenant Governor Ladakh R K Mathur for approving the widening of the road project, and said it will create unemployment opportunities for the local youth.
    “We are thankful to the Government of India, the LG Ladakh and DG BRO who have taken the road for upgradation,” he said.
    He further said the road is very important one for the local population and particularly for defence.
    “It could be a better alternative highway from Kargil to Leh. With the start of the road project, it will create employment opportunities for the local unemployed youth,” he said.
    The CEC said that he has requested the concerned agencies to engage the local youth in order to create employment opportunities for them. He said BRO has played an important role in road connectivity and in providing job opportunities for the unemployed youth through many projects.
    Satyam Kumar Rathode, Officer Commanding, 55 RCC (GREF) said that the work will be completed in the stipulated timeline with quality and excellence.
